Revolución Pingüina: la primera gran movilización del siglo XXI en Chile.

The book that I read talked about the Revolución Pingüina. It shows the phases that this revolution had to pass, which went from marchs to occupations. The author of the book gives us information saying what had Chilean students have to live. She (the author) tells us that the revolucion pinguina began too many years before the revolution. The thing is that Chilean students “took the power”, to say it somehow, in 2005, and they began to do things like to show that the diferent problems that the Chilean education had (and have) was a point that too many schools had (and have) in common. But it does not happened just at schools, it happened (and happens) at universities or institutes too.
In the book there are some testimonies of the people who had to live the revolucion pinguina. They were not just students, they were parents, too who were involved in the strikes and the occupation. They helped and gave their support to the Chilean students, in everything they could.
The book presents the topic of Los Pingüinos in a very good way, what help us to understand in a better way what really happened at that time. Of course there is always, at least, one thing that we do not know about this topic and to read about it is really useful to understand and face the reality of it.
In my opinion, we, as future teachers, need to know about the different problems that our educational system has. We cannot expect that TV shows us what have really happened in terms of education. We need to be on the ball and be experts on education, because that is what we chose, and it is the topic that needs us to be active. So we have a commitment with education, and we need to do whatever we can for it.

September 16th task

What is your opinion regarding this?
I think that the treatment given to the Chilean natives
is awful. We (the chilean community) need to be concious that natives (as we) are people who belong to this country. Also, we have to be proud of them, because, remember, they were the onlyones who could stop the Spaniols, or, Do you want to be an Spaniol?

What do you know about our native people? Did you learn about them at school?
I know a few things about them, the thing is that I learned about them at the university, when I took the OFC about folklore, and not at school.

Do you identify with them in any way?
Even though I am not Mapuche, I think that we are people who have a country in common, and we have to leand about the other, because that could give us the identity that we lost.

What Chilean characteristics do you or don't you have?
I like everything that is connected to Chile, but not the gobernment. For example, I like the Chilean music, dance, food (even though I'm vegetarian), culture, geography, diversity, etc. The only thing that I don't like is the gobernment, because I strongly believe that they don't represent us as a community, they just represent their interests.

What things make you proud to be Chilean, and what things make you feel ashamed?
I am proud of Chilean natives, because they have the guts of persist fighting for their rights. But I am ashamed of being Chilean, because, as I said before, of the gobernment. They have made fun of everything that have happen in Chile like the Mapuche hunger strike, or the 33 miners, etc.

In your opinion, what is the so called "Chilean culture"?
Chilean Culture is wath we are lossing. What this means to me is the love that we feel with our country. How much we feel that we belong to this country. And that is not shown by dancing Cueca at September 18th, or eating Empanadas and Chicha. We need to love our country (and with "our country" I am not refering to our gobernment) every day.

The Yes Men Fix The World P2P Edition 2010 HD

I think that, what these men do is other way (a diferent one but valid, as well) to express what they think. They wanted to show a reality that we, as "normal people", are not worried to get informed about. And, definitely, this kind of acts makes us to realize about the real world in which we live. Personally I really liked the way that they show their thoughts about different issues, and to sue them because of that, is just an excuse to blame someone else about something.

Juventud en Éxtasis by Carlos Cuauhtémoc Sánchez

How does the title relate to the story?

In the book we can see that the author wants to show us that teens are crazy about sex, thinking that this is the only way to be successful in a marriage. Later on in the text we can see how the author argues that there are other ways to be successful, instead of the first one. That makes you analyze if teens are right or wrong in what they think about this topic. This is related to the title, because it shows how teens are living their lives, what is shown with the word "ecstasies". What means that, they just want to live their lives as if today were their last opportunity to experience different things.

What is the text, story about?

The book is about sex before the marriage and sex after the marriage. It shows how people make mistakes thinking that the person they are with, are what they really want, when he/she is not.
How to realize that the person you are with is the "correct one"?, this kind of question is answered in the book.

How, in your opinion, did the writer make his/her point ?

I think that the author exposes his idea in a very explicit way. He shows what, normaly, a teenager feels in the moment he/she is thinking in other person who is attractive to him/her. Then, the author shows, without reservation, that he is against of having sex before the marriage but, the good thing is that he has his strong arguments. His idea (the author’s idea) is shown in a way that everyone can understand it.

What is the main lesson of the story?

The main lesson is that it is not bad neither wrong to have sex before the marriage, but, if you had sex unprotected, you have to face the consecuences. They could go from an STD to an unwanted pregnancy.
